Was able to communicate my needs to my optometrist today and he gave me a specific Rx for my needs.

Now I'm searching for an on line company to supply shooting glasses with this Rx.

Any ideas?

Oakley. My dad uses ballistic eye wear from them with rx. Oakley were the gold standard choice for deployment from my own personal experience.

Oakley is good. I use Wiley X. I don't have prescription but they do those. That's funny, from my experience ESS, Gatorz, and Wiley X were the most common. We started off (over a few years) with Gargoyles. Now some cool guy will come on and say Ray Ban. :D

I got these. The lenses are easily user-interchangeable. They have a digital Progressives technology that can mimic any needs (e.g. bifocals) as well as advanced custom coatings (I got the 'All-in-one' for basic needs, the Blackout for sunny days, the Freshwater Green for hunting/fishing). The 'Win/Win' is another good choice. Every 2 months or so they'll have a 20+ percent off sale. The next one will likely be July 4th.

Make sure to check out their pre-built guide:

I also got these mil-spec ones for work since I destroyed the frames of the previous pair. Mil-spec means the frames are more durable:

I have seven pair from this company ... great optical quality. Good shipping but you need to stay on your toes because sometimes products may be discontinued between your order and their fulfillment. They'll take care of you but they have been caught unawares when that happened and I had to ask them 'where are my glasses' ... They also carry Oakley, WIley-X and Costa as well as all the other name brands.

I am happy with what I run. Wiley-X SG1 frames and Prescription inserts.

The military dumped a lot of unused surplus SG-1s out a couple years ago, they are still floating around on eBay. These look like some of those:

rxsafety.com sells prescription inserts here:

So about $110 for single vision all totaled. When your prescription changes get new inserts.

I got issues Wiley-X’s in our RFI when I was deployed. I liked them but the rubber parts deteriorated rather quickly and lasted less than a year

You need to have an optician experienced in fitting shooting glasses fit you, and you probably aren't going to find that online. If you are going to anyone online do your shooting glasses, let it be this firm:

http://www.decot.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQj..._BPvbQxvJo9Bszpux-xKtIRmJdILy_vMaAu1FEALw_wcB

It's what they do, and they do it well. For prone or bench work, you need the OC (optical center) of your shooting eye set up and in from the geometric center (usually it is set at the PD (pupillary distance) and set up a few millimeters, more on plastic frames than metal.
Glasses made as such will be less useful as normal glasses, depending on your prescription.
