Hey all, I just had some questions about a revolver my dad just aquired for me from his uncle. It's the S&W model 13-2 nickel plated revolver. It's still in the original box and my uncle claims he has never shot it (Which I tend to believe because uncle is not much of a gun enthusiast). He says he bought it new in the 70's. I was wondering if anybody had any info on the gun such as history, value, and whethter or not the $200.00 dad paid for it was worth it. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Excellent revolver and if the gun is as you describe it an excellent price by at least $100. The model 13 is basically the Smith and Wesson Military & Police revolver chambered in .357. It is out of production for now for about 10 years and its stainless steel counterpart the model 65 just went out of production. If your father shoots mostly 38 special rounds and rarely .357 (especially the lighter weight bullets) the model 13 will last a few lifetimes.

A nickel model 13-2 in like new condition with the original box and papers is worth about $400-$475. Your dad got it for $200? Either your uncle is a very generous man, or he got robbed!:what:
