I came across a 15-3 snubby this week, I had no idea the 15 was made with other than a 4" barrel, how common are the short ones?

I knew a few guys back in the 70s that had them for off duty guns. Most guys went for a J frame at that time.

Gosh, was it the one we were talking about here:

... when I joked and said you'd be along soon to claim it, before I could get over to the East Sound ... As always, that pet shop of yours keeps finding nice revolvers and letting 'em go for decent prices.

As noted, they were not uncommon nor particularly rare. The .38 version of the Model 19 snubby as Dog Soldier notes ...

Didya buy it?

Lol, I had no idea this one was on another thread. I didn't buy it because I didn't know if it was a factory gun or a chop shop job.
Well, I'll be back in town Tuesday, if it's still there

Nice! I had a shot at one when I worked at a shop- We'd got a large lot of guns in trade from the County Sherriff's office for work on their duty guns. There was a 15 2" in the lot, and a Colt Cobra beat it out. Wish I still had the Cobra....:(

I picked one up about 12 years ago, blued nice gun excellent condition, but I have never really been a snubby aficionado. I decided to sell it about 3-4 years ago local online Armslist, for about $150 more than I bought it for, had about 5 people interested the first day and sold it to the first, then wondered why so much interest? Now I am kicking myself for not holding onto that one. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about most guns, but I am still soaking up new information.
