I came across a 15-3 snubby this week, I had no idea the 15 was made with other than a 4" barrel, how common are the short ones?
I owned one years ago. My favorite was the Mdl. 19, 2.5" round butt .357 Mag. Those short barreled S&W revolvers were very accurate.

As noted, they were not uncommon nor particularly rare. The .38 version of the Model 19 snubby as Dog Soldier notes ...
