Ive got a s&w 386 with a 2 1/2" barrel. I typically carry it fishing and load it with 4 cci shotshells for snake and put 3 federal personal defense rounds in the cylinder for good measure. This wkend I carried it with a couple of other guns and did some shooting. Recoil with a personal defense round wasnt fun but it was alot more tolerable than the powder residue blown back in my face. Is this typical or have I got a problem. Too hot a load for a lite wt. short barreled gun ?
