OK...I NEVER hear of 622's or 422's on the forums. What's the scoop? What can my forum buddies tell me about them?

I have a 622 that my dad bought me for Christmas in the early 90's, and it is a GREAT shooter. I think it actually shoots a little sweeter than my MKIII.

Any info regarding these models would be mucho appreciated.

All I can say is that I love my 622. :)

My second .22 semi was a 422 that I got early on when I started shooting two and a half years ago. The gun works fantastically and shoots really nice groups that are only limited by the old guy fuzzy eyes and nerves of the owner. I've even used it regularly in the .22 class at my club's monthly Speed Steel events. It's been such a good gun that I could likely count the jams it's had on the fingers of one hand out of the roughly 3500 rounds I've shot through it.

I recently added an almost like new 2206, which is the later model number for the 622, that has the short barrel and looks just like BlackSky's gun other than black plastic/rubber grips. This one has more heft to it than the 422 due to be all steel unlike the 422's alloy body with steel insert barrel and slide. I've shot around 500 to 600 rounds through it since I got it last summer. Like it's "older brother" it is far better than the owner. And like the 422 it's been dead nutz reliable. It had trouble with one magazine causing jams and that one has been set aside to be checked and tweaked pretty soon.

Other .22's may come and go but these two are not leaving me until I can't shoot at all any more. They are accurate, reliable, fit the hand well and look amazing. Yes, they are "simple" in style. But I like the simple, slim look of them which fits right in with the type of gun they are.

I see others come up for about the same or less than I paid and I have to stop myself from buying them. I've got my two so I just need to sit back and let someone else luck out and get a great gun which will make them smile so much.

I also have a blued 622, bought NIB, and a buddy has the 422
nice guns (better I think than the current 22As, or Walther P22, or Beretta Neo), but lightweight alloy requires better hands than mine for a steadier hold
the guns themselves are plenty accurate though
