S&w 624 Ccw?

I carry scandium N-frames concealed no problem. Wouldn't care to lug the weight of a 624. I have a Milt Sparks Versamax2 and an Andrews Leather McDanielII. Both conceal N-frames very well. Only need a loose T-shirt. The VM2 is probably best for a heavy gun because of the way it distributes weight. I don't carry reloads usually, and doubt there's a good way to conceal a speedloader.

I have a four inch M624, its a big revolver. I have handled the 3 inch versions, those are big revolverx.

If you want a concealable 44 Spl, the Charter Arms Bulldog is the smallest of its class.

Kicks hard too.

Just when you think the 44 Spl is a powder puff load, fire one in a 20 ounce Charter Arms Bulldog.

Surprise!

Not a concealable 44 Spl:

My only N-frame is a 625 w/5" Bbl. at 45 oz I think the only
way to carry it concealed would be in a vertical
as in the muzzle down position Shoulder rig, like the
Lou ALessi Field Master.

The new Nightguard line by S&W Scandium frame & Stainless
Steel Cylinder w/2 1/2" Bbl and compact Pachmayr rubber grips might
be the best N-frame package for concealed carry. THe 325 NG in
.45 ACP might be the ticket. with a high ride strong side FBI Cant
at 3"30

I disagree wholeheartedly with the idea that you can't conceal an N-frame easily.
I use a Blade-Tech UCH holster for my M29 Mountain Gun, and it disappears under an un-tucked shirt. I'm not big, either. 5'11", 192 pounds, 30-inch waist. I carry this thing all the time, with two speedloaders in front in DeSantis carriers. You CAN carry an N-frame comfortably, and it will be most comforting to have that beautiful revolver with you all the time. The thing that will make or break the gun for CC is grips. I'd stick with round butt wood grips, or if you HAVE to have rubber, stick with Pachmayr grips, as they are less tacky.
This is what I carried before I bought the Mountain Gun
Check out the blade-tech rig, it's really great, and not terribly expensive.

It's not very hard concealing a N-frame with the right equipment and dress. As to the weight it's up to the individual because some of us don't mind. I see some semi-auto shooters carrying the pistol and 2 extra magazines that surpass the weight of a N-frame.

BTW.........don't forget to get a good quality gun belt. The belt is the key to making the heavy guns comfortable to carry.

I don't have a 624, but here's a 3" 629 in a VM2 and a 3" 625 in a McDanielII. If you must carry a reload, and concealment is an issue, a cartridge wallet works fine. The one in the pic is from Simply Rugged.

I carry a S&W 657 Mountain Gun in a Milt Sparks VM2 holster or either a Kramer vertical scabbard holster.Spare ammo is carried in split six speedloader carriers and in a 6 round bullet pouch both are from Desantis Leather.
