S&W 642 or Ruger SP101 for pocket carry?

Having shot both and having owned a SP101, I'd have to say S&W 642 if you're going to pocket it. The 642 isn't as easy to shoot, but it's definitely easier to conceal.

Interesting and timely thread for me. It is now officially HH&H season in the Houston area (that's Hazy, Hot, and Humid). So the Kimber is doing bedside table duty as usual in the heat, and the m37 airweight is on the belt IWB. But I keep thinking of trading it. Yes it is concealable: even women's lightweight summer tops and capris are fine carrying it iWB. Yes, I have mastered the double action trigger (mostly) and could use it effectively if need be. And yes, I can stand shooting +P .38's out of it.

About five of them...then I'm holding my water bottle and letting it take the pain out of my right hand. :(

I can do with it what needs doing; but I sure cannot stand to practice with it very much; at least not with defense ammo. And I got to thinking that maybe the SP101 would be better.

So, if I might take the thread on a scenic detour (never a hijack, lol) can anyone speak to the concealabilitiy of a SP101 in comparison to a J-frame, and then, perhaps to, say, a compact .45 semiauto (my other carry gun)? What I want to know is, if I get a SP101, am I actually getting a summer carry gun that I can really HIDE under a tee shirt, or is it going to be more like a K-frame in bulk and weight?

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread, but would welcome any feedback.
