Just bought this revolver used, bore is mirror-bright, cylinder is tight, some exterior wear (mostly fine lines from cleaning/use, and some rounding of the outside edge of the barrel at 3 adn 9 o'clock which I assume is from holstering. I'd put it at 95% condition or so. And it came with a Bianchi duty belt, clamshell holster, speedloader pouch with 2 loaders and two speed strip holders with strips. Store owner said it was traded in by a former Park Ranger who used it as his duty gun but almost never shot it. All for $440. Did I do good, so-so, or not so much?

You are probably about right. I justnpicked up a 67 with full stainless sights. Suppose to be 98-99% and shot very little if at all with box that is nice but not a perfect match. I plan to shoot this and may try to pick ip a blued sight to replace the stainless. I like staimless guns. Dont have this one yet, perhaps larer this week. I paid 515.

For $440, I’d say you did very good compared to prices in my area. But watch out with that clamshell holster. I’ve never had one, but I understand that they can unexpectedly pop open.

You did well. I'd have jumped on that too.
What Twiki357 said about the clamshell is true. They became popular in LE and disappeared fairly quickly. Neat display accessory, but don't trust it.

From the condition that you described it, I think you did well with the price plus the holster and accessories.

Sounds like a good deal to me. The S&W 67-1 is the first gun I ever purchased and it's still with me. They're quite something for a full sized .38 special.
