Is anyone out there having problems with their Bodyguard 38? Mine seems to have some problems with the cylinder locking up correctly. I understand that it's a DAO and the trigger needs to be released all the way to the front between shots but sometimes mine will malfunction after the first couple of shots. I release the trigger fully but when I take the next shot the cylinder will rotate but the trigger will pull all the way back and the hammer never drops. I've had a little trouble with the new cylinder latch design and I'm not sure if this is 1.Operator error 2. Cylinder latch problems or 3. Problems with the lock-work. Anyone else having similar trouble? This is a back-up gun but even so, I want it to light up when I hit the bang-switch!

Just for clarification, are you refering to the new Bodyguard with the built in laser or the original M38 Bodyguard?
Two completely different revolvers that share the same name. Why didn't they come up with a new name?

He's talking about the new Bodyguard revolver because he references the new cylinder latch design.

I would suggest taking it to a Gunsmith to determine if there's a problem with the revolver. If there is send it back to S&W for repairs.
