S&W frame broke today at the range

So today I take a few guns to the range. One of them was my S&W 22A. I decided to shoot it first and after the first shot it would no longer fire. I looked down and noticed that the frame has completely crack at the base of the trigger guard (right where the grip starts). It is a serious crack. The gun has approximately 1,500-2,500 rounds through it. I don’t know how this happened but I hope S&W will take full responsibility. Has anyone heard of this problem before?

This was not here before today. I took it apart and cleaned it last night.

Call S&W; they will take of you. I know it sucks when it's your gun, but give them the chance, and I'm sure they'll make it right with you.
