S&W Governor

I have been interested in this pistol for a while as a glove box anti-car jacking gun. I read the many reviews online & watched the Youtube videos. I finally broke down & bought one today for $550. Can't wait to shoot it. Is there any other S&W Governor owners out there that really love this pistol?

Love it? Hmmm...
I do like it a lot better than the Judge I also have.
I mainly have them for snake patrol at my camp. Don't feel like toting a long gun around all day on 10 acres for that....
I really have no need for both, probably should sell the Taurus. The one I have is kind of an oddball, lightweight frame and DA only.

Love is a strong word for my Gov, but I do like it. Mine sits in the nightstand so I don't see too much of it. I've shot it with all possible loads and feel confident it will serve me well if the need arises, which I hope it never does.

I picked one up on a whim. Actually worked out a trade with a dealer for something I had and didn't really want.

I've had the gun out once so far, and found it to be a hoot to shoot. There are a number of .410 loads available for it. I need to pick up a varied selection, and then take it out and do some comparison shooting.

I did replace the little bantum grips it came with, with factory Hogue full size grips. Fills my hand a little better that way.

Here in the Republik of IL, Judges put Governors in prison. that said, both are fun solutions to a problem that never existed. Yes, I have one. Would be a great cottonmouth gun with 3" Remington 7 1/2s if we had a ny here in central IL.
