S&W J frame Question - Model 36

I am wanting to get a 36 round butt. I have found a 36 square butt. My question is,... Is the frame made the same so I can remove the square butt grips and replace with the round butt grips?

The frames are not the same in the grip area. If you buy a square butt that is what you must deal with. If you buy a round butt, you can buy grips to convert it to a square butt.
