Roll stamp on barrel reads: "FOR .38 SMITH & WESSON CARTRIDGES". Shooting star stamped aft of the front sight. Roll stamp on top of the barrel isn't legible.

5.5" barrel. Logo on side plate shows a lion and the words read "MARCA REGISTRADA"

The hand doesn't always rotate the cylinder and the cylinder stop doesn't always engage.

Considering the poor condition of the gun, it's a wonder that the grips are in perfect condition. The gun was found in a barn in NE OH.

The SCSW warns that there are plenty of fakes out there and this might be one of them.

Any comments or info concerning value of the gun or the grips would be appreciated.

"38 Smith & Wesson" is the name of the cartridge/caliber it fires.
