It's late, I'm tired ans search turned up toomany hits!!

A Patient aske dme if I knew handguns. " No, but I love seeing 'em"
He has a LNIB model 37 blue 3". Chanmers are slightly dirty, barrel has a little 'scuff', barely discernable leading, I assume. No finish wear! Original grips and 5 rounds of .38 RNL that were in the box. Parts list copyright 1969,
(frame was about $4.75 IRRC) Serial #21Jxxx.

DOB? & Value? Airweight, by the way, which I assume all Mod 37's were.

BEAUTIFUL piece!! Pinned barrel but non-recessed.

Thanks.
Bob

1) Probably '71-'72.
2) These have been trading crazy-high in these parts: $375-$400 for a 3" in 95%+ wouldn't be unbelievable. I've turned down four and a half for my primo nickel '76 Model 37. It's my Barbecue BUG (we have rough barbecues in these parts. :D )
3) Yup, they're all Airweights.

BEAUTIFUL piece!! Pinned barrel but non-recessed.

Only magnums and rimfires had recessed chambers.

I've got an NIB 3" 37 just like that, circa '73. Cool find!

I paid $280 out the door, but your price may be lower due to the nature of the CA used gun market.

My 3" 37 is a J971xxx serial number.

They are nice revolvers, especially if you appreciate the .38 and J frames (like I do)!

stv,

I paid $280 out the door, but your price may be lower due to the nature of the CA used gun market.

I can't think of a rational reason for it, but here in the K-town area, you can't find a 37 or a 38, but you can't give away a 36. A plain, blue, 2" 37 around here would be a $325 gun all day long, unless it had been dragged behind a truck or something. It doesn't make sense. (But then again, what does? ;) )

Even worse here. Wouldn't be surprised if that LNIB will bring $400+ easily. It the FIRST 3" 37 I've seen. There are no used Rem 870's on the market here, very few decent revolvers.

By the way, thanks for the quick replies! (Not that I'd have expected less from this bunch!!)

Stay safe.
Bob
