S&W PD model finish.

I would like to know more about the PD models of the Smith & Wesson. What is the finish? Looks like powder coat, how durable is it?

Good question. The cylinder is titanium and you're looking at the raw metal. The frame and outer barrel appear to have gone through some anodizing process. I've heard that some solvents can stain it.
I've carried/cleaned mine just like anything else and had zero problems with it's finish.

Frame is hard anodized and the cylinder is natural titanium with some sort of "clear coat".

Mine has over 3k rounds through it, and with moderate care it's held up well.

I believe that the earlier PD versions were mostly done in a black paint-type finish, rather than the anodized finish on the later example Joe's pictures shows.
