S&W Shield

It's well known that it's hit or miss with PSA normally. Some people get normal shipping, and others might have to wait a while. My last order with them took 2 weeks and a phone call to ship.

Only a hundred rounds through this one so far, but I think this one is going to be a keeper.
It shoots nice, feels good in the hand and thin enough to carry with ease.

Micro-Stamp?....

Any other M&P Shield pistol owners have a model with a "microstamp"?
I'm not sure if that's a S&W logistics thing or if it's for legal/ATF reasons.

I guess if the NSA or Jack Bauer ever needs to find my M&P Shield 9mm they can find it, :D .

I believe S&W had to put a microstamp on the guns to be sold in CA under their "unsafe handgun act."

I recall reading a press release that stated they would no longer do this.

There is no such thing as a Shield or any other handgun with microstamping. Not sure where you guys are getting this? There has not been a single gun ever sold with microstamping. It is a totally non-workable, impractical technology that other than experiments in a development lab, doesn't exist. Our anti-gun Attorney General made an arbitrary and capricious ruling that no new handgun could be added to the California Not Unsafe Handgun Roster without microstamping. Since none of the manufacturers will ever add microstamping since it is basically science fiction, the handgun roster has turned into a defacto gun ban on new handguns in California. Point, tyrants. We have a court case in progress, called Pena vs. Cid that is challenging this. The case will go to the 9th and probably the SCOTUS as the roster is totally illegal and unconstitutional.

Bar-Code...

My M&P Shield no thumb safety format 9x19mm has a bar-code on the frame, . It was manufactured and test-fired on 11/14/2014 at the Springfield MA plant.
I noticed it as I was cleaning it.
I think SIG Sauer does that too but only for the milspec pistols like the Mk 25 9mm & the compact M11. Id think it would be for logistics or inventory control.
