Is there a difference in the guns under the law enforcement section as opposed to searching for a paticular model under the regular area? Does S&W produce no-lock guns for law enforcement or are they all the same? The SKU numbers they have listed come up the same no matter which way you navigate to the paticular model.

Just curious!

No, I don't believe there is any difference. Besides most of the TSW pistols line, that are under the LE heading on their site are discontuined. S&W does sell Law enforcement pistols with high capcity magazines, and having the optional of not having internal locks, and magazine disconnect that are required in some states.

S&W rearranged their web catalog to match their sales of different firearms.

Except for the 3913TSW & 4013TSW, they've generally discontinued commercial sales of the more expensive TSW line, limiting it to government & L/E customers. I was told that if a major distributor wanted to place an order for a significant number of them, however, that they would make them. Sort of up in the air.

They have been selling various TSW pistols to L/E agencies, however, and in greater numbers than various detractors would have some folks think, too.

Their major focus has been on getting the M&P line introduced and accepted for L/E use, though.

I've heard of some L/E agencies still prefering and ordering the original SW99 TDA models, and S&W will continue to produce them for agencies desiring them, although they're pushing the QA-type SW990L models which are the current commercial offering.

The first I heard of the new railed SW1911 model was when it was accepted for issue by a West Coast SWAT team after various competitor's pistols were tested and evaluated (I believe it was Riverside County SWAT), and then it later appeared in the standard catalog.

Every time I receive one of their catalogs it seems the entire thing has been rearranged, too. ;) The new one is pretty slick, though.
