Range Report:
The shoot on 1-5-03 was a lot of fun. 45R and I met at 12pm but Drjones was unable to attend do to a bad cold that is going around right now. I could tell right away that 45R was a good guy to shoot with because of his attention to safety and extensive knowledge with handguns. He managed to improve my Glock shooting with an observation that I was riding the frame with my trigger finger. Rather than stringing my shots to the left, I was now able to center my shots on the target. That was great. We then traded off guns and I was very happy to try out the sig and walther. He tried out my Springfield and Model 60 as well. We then sent hundreds and hundreds of .22s down range through our Ruger MkIIs. What fun.

I then brought out my Savage 10fp in .308 with the Sharpshooter Supply Varmint stock. This seemed to catch the eye of more than a few shooters at the range. With a little coaching on the use of sandbags, positioning, and breath control, 45R put his first three shots into an inch. Pretty impressive shooting. After a handfull or so more shots we decided to pack it up and go grab a coke.

This shoot was a lot of fun and we both learned some good stuff about our sport. That's what I love about shooting; when you can get a tip or two and see a direct improvement. I am looking forward to the next Sacto Shoot. I offered to take 45R out to the Bypass for a little shotgunning and some clay birds. Well, bye for now, hope to meet Drjones and other THRs next time.
