How about some advice. After moving the safe off a pallet jack; how is the best way to move and rotate the sage that's on carpet?

I used Thoes carpet sliders that are about 5 inch round plastic with a foam pad on the top side. Carefully tip safe and place a sliders under each corner then just push the safe into place. Quite easy. I bought the sliders from Lowes hardware.
I believe they are called furniture movers or sliders.

It depends on the safe. If it's a flat bottom safe like a Liberty, you can spin it around right on the carpet. If it's a safe like an AMSEC BF, you should have something between it and the carpet.

We use a set of commercial slides that are about 4' long, and 8" wide. Same thing being talked about here, just larger. 1,400 pounds is a lot of weight to be sliding any distance. If you're going across an entire room, you may end up getting a wave going in the carpet.
 
Pipes won't roll on carpet. You'll need to lay something across it to make it roll properly. It is a pretty fast way of doing it, and you won't have to worry about damage to the carpet.

However, if you're going to lay wood out anyway, you might as well just roll your pallet jack across it.
 
Spend $200 and hire a professional. A broken finger, foot, leg, or dead friend is not worth the risk.

But if you insist, I've moved smaller safes and here are some tips. Think like an Egyptian moving large stone blocks. Rollers and pullys.

Lots of golf balls under the safe.

Or steel pipes as rollers.

Or put the safe on a piece of carpet and pull the carpet.

Be aware of scratched wood floors, capinets, holes in walls, etc.
 
I could not agree more leadcounsel.
Sure I have moved my smaller older Amsec on a rented refrigerator dolly a few times but a few hundred pounds vs the 1250 pounds my BF 66X36 weighs,no way Jose!!
I admire people that do this on their own but just make a mistake and everything changes.
The two guys from the professional safe and vault company I hired to do mine made it look so easy.
But they had good and expensive professional equipment and more so years of experience doing this very thing.
Hey, what's a few hundred bucks anyway??
 
I put cardboard down over my carpet, and used 1" nylon rods to roll it. Worked just fine. Do watch those fingers and toes though.

I moved mine with the door off. That helped a lot.
 
I found that heavy (1000# or more) safes sink into carpet and carpet pads so much that you can't push them around without piling up the carpet and pad, potentially tearing it up. I put down at least two pieces of plywood (edge-to-edge, not stacked) and then two pieces of heavy cardboard box (stacked). With the safe on top of the two pieces of cardboard, usually the top piece moves with the safe and the bottom piece stays with the plywood. As you get to the next piece of plywood, put down another (bottom) piece of cardboard to continue onto. Once you get fully on to the second piece of plywood, pick up the first piece and leapfrog ahead. When I park the safe on carpet, I pull the cardboard out but leave the safe on a custom cut piece of plywood that's 2-3" larger than the safe all the way around, to keep it from sinking so badly.
 
PVC pipes leap frogged like train tracks so you can slide it, or use them as rollers if they will role on the carpet.
 
Rollers work really really well, considering that that technology is thousands of years old. I used some 1-1/2" curtain rod dowels. Speaking of ancient tech, you might find a few slaves helpful too!

BUT ...

Do NOT roll your safe on the carpet. Instead put down plywood pieces/sheets on top of your carpet and roll the safe on them. Otherwise you can really stretch and rumple your rug to heck. You want to prevent the rollers from sinking into the carpet/pad. Reduces rolling resistence too.
