Hey guys, I was just wondering what the proper ANSI specification for shooting safety glasses is. I picked up a pair under the Z87.1-2003 specification, but it says in the "limitations" section not to use for "sporting" or "simulated combat".

From what I know about the Z87.1-2003 specifications, they propel a 1/4" steel ball at 150 ft/s from 50". I'm thinking that a ricochet from a .22 is probably carrying more energy than that, so I'm not really sure if I got the right glasses.

Pyramex model REATTA exceeds ANSI Z87.1-2003 High Impact Requirements.

Don't know if they make anything higher.

The statement is intended to limit their liability.
