Well, first off, of course, our own Oleg. He's rocks and we had a great time the last time he was up. He's offered to come up and speak to the group and hopefully take a lot of pictures of our members and their guns.

Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation and publisher of Gun Week will be there as well..he's been wonderful about offering to help us out. Good guy! He does a great job keeping after the Brady Campaign. www.saf.org www.ccrkba.org and www.gunweek.com.

And Myrah Kirkwood, who is just great..she's an amazing woman running in a tight race for US Congress against Dale Kildee..and a great speaker. You can find out more about her at www.myrahforcongress.com

We're also waiting for a few more confirmations on other speakers.

There will also be a lot of political folks, local people, great activists, good food, lots of goodies to win, etc.

The dinner will be held 10/23/04 from 6:00 to 11:00 pm in Frankenmuth, Michigan (home of the world's scariest..err..largest Christmas store, if anyone is interested and/or thinks that will induce their spouse to accompany them.) Tickets are $30.00 for paid members and $40.00 for the general public.

Another advantage is that Michigan recognizes any other state's CCW license.

For more info, you can ask me or write to [email protected]

I was just thinking about the last time Oleg was here.. a lot of us stayed in Lansing at a hotel there..and the day after the meeting, Oleg shot a lot of pictures in one of hte rooms. I can only imagine what the other guests thought when there was a troop of probably 15 people carrying rifle cases, guitars, firefighter equipment, camera equipment, etc. up the stairs. It was fun but people either avoided us or tried to sneak a peak in to see what was going on in there. :)

Thank You posting this announcement.
I pay attn to your posts and your tireless efforts are appreciated by this fellow, even though I'm many miles away , in another state. Though I won't be able to attend , I do support the work done.

Not to mention my posting bumps this BTT. ;)

Bavarian Inn..cheesy? Yes..but they have good food, too. :)

We have quite a few goodies for door prizes and silent auction items, too. Guns, training classes (CPL, instructor training and some advanced stuff) scopes, custom gun cases, etc. etc. We're also accepting donations for items, if anyone is willing. All the proceeds go to SAFR.

Anyone who has been to one of these meetings has a good time..great people, good food, interesting speakers. Can't beat it.

(and thank you AB, too. :))

Thought it was a good time to bump this. You folks from Ohio and Indiana, and I guess, Canada. :p are welcome to come along. There are a lot of people I'm looking forward to meeting and a lot of old friends I'll be happy to see.

That would be bad. I don't think anyone would ban guns at a pro-RKBA event...wouldn't do to have the guest speakers to turn around and leave.

Oh yeah...

NRA conventions have done it in the past. Just recently, GRPC in VA had a 'gun ban' at the 'ban gun bans'(slogan) event... Go figure.

There is a pretty lengthy assertion of events from both sides at Packing.org. Go to the Gun Talk page, then select Virginia. Check out the post toward the bottom entitled "Joe Waldron". Obviously, read and interpret with a grain of salt...

YMMV

Nope, but we will be posting a notice that concealed weapons are expected to remain that way. There will be plenty of unloaded weapons to fondle, without bring loaded ones out into a crowd.

And we'd miss the guest of honor.

Plus, he knows me well enough to yell at me before he walked out! :)

Bavarian Inn? Oh darn, I gotta brush up on my German drinking songs, but I'll be there. Somebody has to represent PA, I suppose.

Last minute bump for this.

I sure hope the rain holds off but we're going to have a great time.
