Hi guys, I am seriously considering buying a savage mkii, some differences between models is obvious but others are not!

They have different stocks, some have heavy barrels, thumb holes etc
Do they all have the same action and trigger. I read that the accutrigger can go down to 1 1/2lbs do any of the models allow lower trigger pull. I ideally want to go down to 8 OZ!

The older version of the Mark II accu-trigger would go down to 2 1/2 pounds. The centerfire rifle version would go down to 1 1/2 pounds. I don't know about the newer Mark IIs.

The newer MKII only go to around 2 LBS. Look on rimfire central there are posts on how to shim trigger to get the pull down lower as well as other modifications.

They're not all the same. Same action AFAIK, but the triggers differ.

I bought the cheap synthetic stock version from Wally World, and it didn't come with the Accu-trigger, unless I'm missing something. The trigger I have is nice and crisp, but heavy for a .22 range toy.

The actions are the same, the variants will be barrel, trigger(standard or accu-trigger) and stocks(from basic wood or synthetic to the more advanced target styles) I've had my eyes on the MKII TR for almost a year now... closing in on it though!! Have been lucky enough to shoot a few of them, they all shoot great regardless of ammo used!

Don't forget iron sights vs. drilled and tapped for mounts vs. rimfire groove vs. factory weaver mounts…
