My dealer doesn't have them showing up on his distributor's list yet. We looked last Tuesday. I have my heart set on one in .308 or 7mm mag. Based on what I've seen/shot from Savage lately it should be a rugged, reliable, and tremendously accurate weapon. A Savage 11 LRH ... a 50mm Pentax LightSeeker on top ... and VIOLA! A beanfield deer/hog rifle, a competition paper-puncher, and a long range Anti-BadGuy weapon all rolled up in one.

I also have my heart set on the .308, saving the pennies. Do alot of beanfield hunting for deer and hogs also.

Shipping soon-
But uh, don't expect every retailer to have them setting on the selves for sometime, it takes a while to get the racks filled with a new release.

The Longrange Hunter is going to be HOT! We have in the neighborhood of 50 orders for them! If we started selling them today, that would translate int 30 or so, actual sales.

The addition of the Karsten Cheek piece is awesome, we steadily do this modification for customers. And the Accustock is phenomenal!

I could live without the fluted barrel, but to each his own. It is a nice, aesthetic touch.

Anyone know the latest on the fluted barrel? I heard that Savage was considering going without flutes because the straight barrel shot better in testing.

Sounds like we'd essentially be looking at a 111 with a Karsten cheek piece and heavy 26" barrel. I thought the list was a bit high. Wonder what the street price will actually be?

my shop has one... $1699 iirc... going tonight, i'll verify. and i do believe the barrel is fluted. again, i'll check tonight.

I've had a deposit on one for a few months. My dealer is still being told 2-3 months, which is what they said in late November.
