I was in a local shop today and saw an "older"(shop owner's words) used Savage Model 111 30-06. I didn't take down the serial number to know how old exactly. It is in pretty good condition with the only real flaw being a crack in the stock going back from the bolt handle to the top of the base of the butt. He wants $300 for it.
I am interested in a bolt action .308 really, but i liked how it felt. The shop owner told me that there are adapters for the chamber of these rifles to shoot .308 in them that work well, and don't detract from their accuracy.
What is your opinion on the price, and the feasability of using an adapter to shoot .308 in it? I have a saiga .308 and would like to be able to stick with one caliber.
