Savage Model 64

Alright, I was not planning on buying anything for a bit, but my neighbor came by, he owed me some money I loaned him to fix his car, and he a bit tight on money with gas prices, and he mentioned he had a New in the box unfired .22lr rifle that he would be willing to give me as a payment on the money owed.

What do you guys/gals know about a savage Model 64? I see that it has a magazine and is a semi-auto, but any good or bad reports with this rifle?

Not too much info here, http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=382832 , but a couple of people that have them seem happy enough.

The biggest reason IMHO is the Ruger10/22 and the Marlin M60. Both heavily advertised and in production more than 40 years. I prefer the Savage simply because I do not like the Ruger 10/22. I own and use Ruger handguns and CF rifles but the 10/22 is not for me.

Here is a picture of Mine.. It shoots as good as any 10/22 I have shot.

If 10 rnds annoy you get a 10/22 because you can't get a larger magazine. But screw those big nana clips anyway
