savage scout questions..

been wondering the follwoing things for a while now.

first off what is a reasonable price for a NIB factory Savage Scout? and yes i know it won't have an Accu-trigger, and would likely need an aftermarket unit to be "right".

then, what items/work are needed to turn a standard iron sighted, detatchable mag fed, short action, such as the 11FC into a scout?
and how much would it cost to do such a re-build??

I can't help you with the mods question, because I don't know. I paid $500.00 for my scout in 7mm-08 with a burris scout scope. They were both NIB. I consider the price I paid to be fair.

If the barrel, stock and sights are what you want most of your work is over.
Scope~$225
Rings and mount~$100
You could prob do those your self. The sling might be all you need to do. It depends on what you want in the end.
Keep us updated, I'm still in the early steps of mine.

I don't know the price, but Savage will build a Scout Rifle for you in their custom shop if you call them. I have heard that the new ones come with the Accu-trigger and they will fit the mags to the rifle. The biggest problem Savage had with their Scout models were the mags coming loose under recoil.
