Saving for a Taurus .44 SPC 2.5" Stubby

Also, I have ordered a new barrel from Numrich just for safe keeping. I have looked for a .44 Special carry gun for a long time. Way before I was interested in my .44 Magnum.
I want to make sure that I have spare parts for this revolver. It came from Alexandria, VA. So it is not covered by the lifetime warranty now. Those Rossi's have to come from Miami, FL.
The revolver is going to the gunsmith to double check the timing. I want to make sure everything is as good a new.
I don't mind what the cost of the gunsmith and spare parts are going to cost. Because it is worth it to me. I like shooting handguns. I like to reload. That equates to I love revolvers. I do not have to chase brass, and you get a nice boom from the revolver. They are simple. My family can use them. My 7 year old daughter could defend us if needed. I digress.
The point is that I do not want to go on the hunt for a full weight .44 Special. I would rather keep this one in the family for my son when I'm gone.

I would like to have some 200 grain Speer GD HP, but the 165 grain Critical Defense from Hornady is what I could find on the way home today. Guaranteed expansion starting a .429 is not a bad choice IMO. Yes, I would like a little more weight, but it is more weight than my .32 H&R Magnum with 100 grain XTPs @ 1020 fps from my 2" Taurus 731 UL.
I have some 240 gr. XTP bullets and Trail Boss, Unique, and 2400. I need to look up what would be a good load for this revolver.
I think I did good, and I will spend the money and time to keep the gun around, and in safe shooting condition. The purchase was a key purchase for me in my life.

Have three Rossis, a 720, a 357 with snubby barrel and built in comp, and a 51 6" 22. All have adjustable sights, all have a really good factory trigger pull, and each is a better gun than the Taurus it replaced....in terms of trigger, fit/finish, and accuracy. I also have an old, original issue Charter Bulldog. It is fine also but not as smooth (trigger). I like the Charter for messing around the farm, shroomin', mowing, etc. Load it with two Speer shot caps and three Fed lead hps. Light, handy, and it didn't cost much.
Got a 624 but it is too bulky for my taste, as is the 29, and Blackhawks, supers, and such.
I save them for deer season.
