After many (and as far as I can tell) successful years. Colorado's Cherry Creek State park is closing it's shooting range.
I spent the morning and afternoon there today, with my dad and nephew, having a good time burning up a brick of .22's.
The whole affair seems really sad, even the office furniture is up for sale. Deals can be had, but it looks like the folks who ran the concession may be out of a livlyhood. The whole staff seemed a bit 'down.'
I'd like to thank the good folks who ran Cherry Creek's range, from the counter help to the gunsmith on staff. You all made the yearly sight-in painless and were always happy to lend a hand.
We'll miss you.
