An older friend of mine just purchased a smidt reuben rifle and was asking me if I knew how to remove the bolt for cleaning. I told him I didn't but I would talk to you guys and one of you would know about it. Any info would be appreciated because if he tries to take it out without knowing he might tear something up"it has happened Before"
Thanks

remove the bolt? theres a lever on the right side of the receiver, hold it down, and pull out the bolt.

what model rifle is it?

the schmidt-rubin family and K31 extensions pretty much take down the same

pull the cocking ring and turn it on half-way between safety and fire. Depress the lever on the side of the receiver, extract the bolt, turn the lugs to the side to expose the lug on the bar and the bolt falls apart

K31

Good info already. It's a simple rifle. He ought to love it. I shot a doe last year with one of mine and have won the TSRA Vintage Rifle Championship the last two years with K31s using the GP11 Swiss ammo. Great rifle. Lots of fun to carry and shoot.
