Many good belt makers out there so you have a lot of choices. I bought two of mine from Midway and am pleased with both. Just bought another from Crossbreed from their seconds (blemished) that I am also happy with, especially it was only $30 rather than their usual $60. Just be sure to measure for length the way they tell you to do it. All of mine are double ply heavy leather and make wearing a pistol or other heavy tools on my belt much more comfortable than my ordinary belts do.

I am a big fan of the double thick web belts like the 5.11 Trainer Belt and the Bison Last Chance Heavy Duty. The infinite adjustability and the tail-end of the belt being velcro'ed down makes for easy but solid adjustment for various carry modes. They are stiff enough to proper support the holster and gun while still being flexible enough to conform to your body for comfort.

I’ve got a Ken Null belt that is the bees knees. He’s in Georgia, FWIW.

Hanks belts and thebeltman belts are what I use. Gun belts are thicker and heavier. I find they work better for everyday even when not carrying. They look better and comes in tons of styles.

I would say a good gun belt is just as, or slightly more important, than a good holster for carrying. If you have the money (and they aren't very expensive), go with a Kore gun belt. The track on the back makes them far more adjustable and comfortable for carrying. If not, the best low cost gun belt I have ever used is the Desantis Econobelt. Which should run you about $25 to 40.

I use a blade tech and really like it. It's easily adjusted without unbuckling it. I can adjust it while I am walking. It's also a good stiff polymer reinforced belt.

I make my own. Basically a clone of the typical double thickness leather that the usual suspects peddle. I like horsehide if you can get it as an option.

I cannot recommend a Wilderness Instructor belt. More difficult to get on and off and definitely lacks stiffness. I don’t know about any of the other “nylon” belts out there but I am not messing with them.

A good belt will make all the difference. Most are double thick and/or have some sort of stiffener insert. They also will cost more than a standard belt, I think most good ones start ~$50 and go up from there. Whether you get nylon or leather is up to you based on what you like, or what you are dressing for. I do not have a preference.

Personally I just bought a couple from Kore Essentials. I really like the ratchet adjust system they use. The belt seems great, but I've only had it about 4 months. I wear one of them every day.

El Paso Saddlery makes great carry belts and of very high quality. A little more casual, but that’s where I am at this point; the suit days are retired. Midway sells them. If you go that route, 2 inches larger than waist size is recommended, so check before you order.

It took me a while to get around to one, but I'm a believer now. Makes a big difference in how comfortable an EDC rides. Or a hammer, fencing pliers, etc.

My son in law got me a Nexbelt a while back; it also has ratchet adjustment. Very thin but pretty stiff. I carry a j frame 642 AIWB, and this belt is great with dress pants. Thinking about getting one for work also. Too bad they’re made in China.....

Be aware of belts like these that are on the thick side of the belt spectrum. Many of the better leather holsters may have trouble fitting on these thick and square belts.
