Just changed from a Williams sight, for twenty years on a 30-30, to a Leupold VXII 2X7 33 with the Long Range Reticle. Got it at Cabela's on sale for $299. Nice small scope with great field of vision and eye relief. Seems to work really well here in the deep South. I'm thinking about buying two more to replace a couple of 4X scopes. Now I'm 64. I might not have to do this if I was 25 again.
well.... probably not shooting over 100 yards and closer to 75?? Hmmm williams foolproof peepsite. quick, accruate, and guess what fool proof.
ops its not a scope though
I put a new Redfield Revolution 3x9x40mm with the Accu-Range reticle on my Marlin .444 paid $190 or the scope out the door, Redfield was bought by Leupold last year I'm told,,,,
Hi! i have a marlin 336 and i installed a Bushnell elite 2 x 7 and i am satisfied. but, a 4 x would be more than enough. i just use the 7x on the bench! as for the mount...i forgot which one i have but i suggest a "one piece" so it is more solid. good luck!
I'd do like jim243 said. A decent 3x9 with see through rings should do the trick for a 30-30. You can always leave it at 3 or 4 power for shooting under 100 yards and crank it up if you ever need to.
