Hey guys,
I'm getting a VEPR 54r 20.5 inch V2 that I plan to set up for long distance shooting. I've got a Black Horse Arsenal adjustable SVD stock and I have ordered very sturdy one-piece mount from NPZ Optics, and I'm now looking for a good scope to put on the rifle. I'm hoping to shoot out to about 600 yards, perhaps 700 depending on the accuracy of the rifle with match ammo.

Here are my preferences:
1. Around $500-700. I'm looking for something nice, but I'm not made of money. In my experience, there are a multitude of good scopes around this price range.
2. 10x or higher magnification on the high end.
3. Plenty of adjustment, in fact I'd prefer a 30mm tube.
4. Prefer non-illuminated. For me that'd just add unnecessary weight/complexity
5. Finger-adjustable turrets are greatly preferred.

Appreciate the help!

You should check out some of the stuff at Kalinka, though prices are going up. The PSO-3's look nice. I picked up a RAKURS from them and it was a good transaction.

You know, I've looked at the Ruskie scopes, and they just aren't for me. The AK versions sit too high, they don't have the variable magnification I'd like (Always heard iffy-reviews over the variable POSPs), and if I'm gonna drop 300+ on a scope I'd like to be able to use it on more than one rifle. They're quality optics, just not for me.

If the cheek piece on that is like the comblock it is best to use a commie scope because they are made for a scope with left offset. You will find it moderately difficult to get your head and eye down behind that centered scope.

The cheek piece on the stock is fine w/a center mounted scope, had it on my SGL w/a TWS rail and a Leatherwood and it worked fine. Was pretty comfy actually.
I love that Vortex in the pics, thanks. I'll have to check that out...probably out of my price range but maybe they have it w/o illum.
