Sweet. I saw that on their page but couldn't find it listed in the parts section. I'll look harder.

ETA = ?

BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM ping!

That CMP mount looks a lot like the F-A mount for less $$$.

In the second set of pics in that thread the guy has the scope mounted up so high I don't know how he gets a decent cheek weld. The center of the scope has got to be 1" above the line of sight through the irons on that rifle.

Both the FA and CMP mounts are Amega mounts. Thats the only one currently made that I know of. I have seen a couple heavy match barreled M1s that were drilled and tapped for regular scope mounts, that is a much nicer, cleaner looking way to do it.

The link is dead from the Amega page, but that is the same one on the tjgeneralstore link I posted.

I hope they are still in production.

So far, every link in this thread is to the same product, being sold by different people (the actual manufacturer is AmegaRanges). The CMP is the cheapest source.

I have one. It done work gud. :)

Judas, you would need to remove the scope to use the iron. See
through would kind of defeat the purpose and probably be difficult
to get a correct stock comb heigth. A simple matter to remove the
scope. I surely wouldn't want to, unless a broken scope!

Yep. Use Leupold QRW or Warne quick release Weaver rings. If you used a non-magnifying holo or red dot you might get the irons visible through the bottom of the optical sight. After you get your rail mounted you would just have to try some and see.

both Burris and Leupold make very nice glass for the scout platforms.

Google is only a few clicks away.
But he wasn't asking about "glass," he was asking about mounts. Judging from the other comments, the OP's hardly to be faulted for asking, as there don't seem to be a plethora of choices.

Google is not the answer to everything.

I use the Amega ranges from CMP on a couple of garands. Works great. Can mount EER scout type scope, handgun scope, or various red dot/holo sights. All work very well. The mount can be had in either picatinny spec or weaver; I've had both and prefer the pic spec.

Bob
