I have a set of dies for 38/357 that are for round nosed bullets.

Can I use the same seating die for SWC's??? Or do I need to get a special seating die that matches the shape of the bullet better??

Thanks

I'ts best to order the proper stem for the die,but being an impatient sort:) I'd try it and see what happens. My guess is it will catch the edge of the case mouth if you're seating flush, but maybe not.

It SHOULD be fine.

I've been known to forget and flip my stem over on my Dillon dies and I've never had a problem.

Same die, but use the proper stem. A round nose stem can seat the bullet crooked and makes getting the seating depth right more difficult. All the die sets I've ever bought came with stems for every style of bullet.

Try the original seating stem. If you can get repeatable seating depths out of it, I wouldn't worry about it.

Technically you should use the correct one...

Put your free floating anxiety to bed. Just use the seating stem you have. No problem. I only use 4 different bullets in that caliber, but so far they all seat well with just the one seating stem. And I don't have to adjust it, even. You may not have to either.

Cheers,
