A respected member of another board I frequent is trying to get a petition going. Here's his original post:

I'm am seeking to pressure the ACLU into giving the Second Amendment equal standing with other much-loved rights such as the First! I feel I've presented them with a good, logical argument. But I NEED the help of shooters everywhere. Tell your local press and radio stations. Post the link on every forum you visit. My goal is 250,000 signatures by Labor Day! -Rod-

I'm not associated with this petition, but it's starting out slow and I'm trying to add some momentum to it. You won't receive any spam or anything else from putting your name on the list. Sorry if it's already been introduced here, and I'd welcome discussion on the subject.

I'm sure Stalin or Pol Pot would have responded to a petition as well... Notttttttttttttt, you could drop 200million signatures on the ACLU door step. Their not going to give a rats a$$.

True, but it doesn't cost anything, and it even if it doesn't get the desired effect it may get someone's attention and help in some way. Never know!
