"Secure It" lock boxes?

Sisco, no personal experience but am considering the same. Here is another link, looks like the same box. I like the low profile and the cable so it can be hidden under seat and then pulled out if needed. Only wish it had push button/keypad instead of key. Good luck. I have one. They are ok for the price, but not super secure. They would prevent a smash and grab, but not a determined thief. I think someone with a big screwdriver could have it open in a minute or two.

I got it to provide a place to stash a handgun away from my daughter, and for that I think it is great.

If you want something super secure, take a look at http://www.handgunsafe.com/safes.htm. You can order them with a key lock, if you like. Totally different price range, though.

Local gunshop got some in this week so I got to get a look at one. Not very heavy duty, would stop an honest man and that's about it.
I did find suitable boxes in the office supply section at WalMart. Built heavier and cost less! One even has an electronic touch lock.
They don't have the security cable but a drill press and a bicycle cable lock would fix that.

I also picked up one of the "wal mart" lockboxes for the vehicle and drilled and bolted it into place (not under the seat obviously :D ). Disguised it pretty well so I doubt anyone will realize what it is.

Just a suggestion, I'd avoid any combination types where a battery powers the unit if you are going to put it in the car.
