Self Defense, From Your Attorney's Point Of View...

One factor which I have mentioned before, but which most attorneys simply choose to ignore (except when they use it) is the "race card." Yet in the U.S. (and in other countries, no matter what they say), it is important. To use the hypothetical "you", the very fact you were going armed in an area where the people "don't look like you" (DLLY) is one strike against you. Then, if the cops DLLY, the prosecutor DLLY, the judge DLLY and all or most of the jury DLLY, you could be in big trouble, no matter what the law may say in theory or no matter how good the objective case for self defense may be.
