Semi-auto safety recalls

I have been curious as to what most people have been doing when sending in their semo-autos in for the certain manufacturer safety recalls (example the Ruger LCP recall). Do most people send in their pistols to the manufacturer for a safety recall with an empty mag in the pistol or without a mag? I will be sending in my S&W made Walther PPK/S here in the next few weeks (I hope) for the safety recall and was just thinking should I send it in with no mag or with an empty mag. I'm leaning on sending it off with no mag myself. I figure all my mags are pretty new and by not sending it in with a mag, that is one last item they can lose or send me back a rather used one in its place. Like I said, just curious how some have handled this situation in the past. Thanks.

Ruger was specific about exactly what to include. Most makers put the details in the accompanying letter. They often don't need or want any extra parts or accessories to get misplaced, or even drive up shipping costs. No sense sending them any more than they need, right?

What does S&W/Walther say specifically? That's what to do.

Yep, that's what I figured. I haven't received my return UPS envelope and letter from S&W yet.

I signed up for the PPK recall on the SW website the minute I saw the recall notice Saturday morning. The web form spit out a reference number, but I have yet to recieve an email reply.

My experience with the LCP recall was positive. Followed thier instructions and the process went as expected and on-time. No Complaints and had it back with extras in about three weeks.
