I understand that there is a 300 yard reduced service rifle competition near Ft Benning, GA the first weekend of Feb 2011. Anyone know about this?

Yep, Chattahoochee Rifle Club.
I've sent you some information to your PM box.
We will shoot in the morning at 9:00 AM and break for lunch. We cook at the range. Typically we shoot a smallbore prone match after lunch. This just happens to be our annual range clean-up day so we will not have the SB match.

Great day at the range. Thanks for everyone's generosity. We learned a lot and the new rear sights with the lens in them are amazing. Can't make the front sight get out of focus. LONG day but well worth the trip. Hope to see you guys at Benning.
