Ms. JACKSON-LEE of Texas introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A BILL
To prevent children's access to firearms.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Child Gun Safety and Gun Access Prevention Act of 2005'.

SEC. 2. INCREASING YOUTH GUN SAFETY BY RAISING THE AGE OF HANDGUN ELIGIBILITY AND PROHIBITING YOUTH FROM POSSESSING SEMIAUTOMATIC ASSAULT WEAPONS.

Not to worry ...

Come the next election she and the rest of the Democrats will be out having their pictures taken at the trap club and then out in the field bird hunting ... :uhoh:

Of course she (and they) are not really anti-gun ...

'cuz ...

This is all for the children ... :banghead:

They introduce these bills that they know have little chance of passing so that they have something to use against the politicians that vote against the measure.

[gasp]"Senator so-and-so actually voted against a measure to protect children!"[/gasp]

Standing Wolf:

>> The last one who tried that got his goose cooked. <<

Well we may continue to hope ... :D :D

She is a disgusting communist. Who the hell in TX is voting for this clown?

It's For the children the newest refuge of all scoundrels.

You hit the 10 ring with that one...The one that scares me, and I am waiting for. And It will happen, is anti gun related Bills in the guise of "OFFICER SAFETY".

If memory serves me right she is from a 'ghetto' section of Houston, with a real high crime rate..(that people like here cause..)

She is the Texas version of Maxine Waters. Seems like every state has at least one. It isn't gender specific either.

She represents inner city Houston. In the last NRA voting guide they gave her an F-. Big Time Anti-Gun.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

She is the perfect candidate for her Houston disctrict. Note, I'm not being crass, just honest

1) Black
2) Woman
3) Socialist

Jackson Lee was hailed by Ebony magazine as one of the “100 Most Fascinating Black Women of the Century†and was named by Congressional Quarterly as one of the 50 most effective members in Congress. She was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1994 to represent the 18th Congressional District of Houston. In her most recent election to the 107th Congress, she received more than 77 percent of the vote. She has distinguished herself as a staunch defender of the Constitution, civil rights, juvenile justice, protection of America’s health needs, gun safety and responsibility, and economic empowerment for low and middle income Americans.

 Defender of the Constitution, except the 2nd Amendment, of course. Just in case you didn't know, economic empowerement is also better known as "welfare" and "entitlement programs".

I can't find it but IIRC there was a big stink about her going into a gun show in Houston and trying to buy a weapon without a background check. Her party was basically asked to leave but when she got out to the cameras. she talked about how easy it was to buy a weapon without a background check despite being denied everytime they tried.

I'm pretty sure Idaho doesn't have one of these.

We have two R Senators representing Ohio - DeWine & Voinovich who are rated F & D respectively by the GOA. Not only do they keep getting reelected they aren't opposed by the NRA (at least not than I am aware of).

Don't feel bad.
It's not much better next door in Indiana with Bayh and Lugar.

I am in the Houston area and have met her several times before, and plan on it again. I did not know she was especialy anti. I will meet her again, and will remember to ask her about this. Is that the full text of the law or is there more to it. What age does she want it raised to?

Looks like she forgot to have it updated. As far as I know, there's no such thing as semiautomatic assault weapon or a large capacity ammunition feeding device any more. Along with the ban went the definitions as well.

How could someone named Lugar be anti-gun

Don't even get me started on this guy. I work for the Republican party and those of us in the southern part of the state can't stand him and refuse to do work for him..

"For the children" isn't the newest cover. "To fight terrorists" is.

I'm just waiting for someone to try and pass a gun control bill "to keep assault weapons out of terrorist hands". It's bound to happen sooner or later.

It's already happend in California with the .50 BMG. This bill is on the road to leftist representatives across this country. That's why 60 Minutes decided to help out and time it to be shown now. This is the time that new bills across this country get sponsors and co-sponsors. The closet commies are salivating over it.
