If you are talking a beeman r7 you are talking a gentle 600 fps rifle (saving for the Weihrauch version) it is a whole different animal than the big hi powered spring guns . and the cheaper guns sold in big box store are harsher than the better brands

Before the internet the blue/silver streak air rifles where the best quality and hardest hitting air guns most people had access to. 50 years of ending pest and putting rabbits in the pot make people fond of these guns I had a couple, regret trading them off . If I found a decent one cheap I would buy it , I wouldn't buy a new one as I try to keep air rifles I can buy pellets locally

You know , for the life of me 40 years ago in Europe I can not remember a SINGLE (not one) pump air rifle competing in 10 meter air rifle in my club.

When someone brought one into the club house one evening it was roundly derided as a toy.

Some folks like Chevys and some like Fords and some like BMWs for gosh sakes.

Middle '60s the boys in my neighbor hood had Pumps, CO2, and a couple of Springers (one was a Diana) and plain old smooth bore Daisy "Air Rifles" and the same old "my dog is better than your dog and my Dad can beat up your Dad and don't be ridiculous Super man would wipe up Gothom with Batman's face........Jennie......MaryAnne....."

I think air rifles are fun, whether I have to pump them up, break them, feed them Whippets or take a tank to the Scuba shop.

I ain't tried one of them car trunk lid arm Pre Charged what you ma call ems yet, but I bet they are fun too.

More time talking about pellet guns and Double B guns and less harassing one another's choices please.

My Blue Streak .20 fed me all most daily when I was caretaking soon to be California State park Molera in early 70s for about 6 months. Big fat quail were my chicken and bunnies too. I used it since then and in late 90s after haven't used it for 15 years found the seals went south and had it rebuilt by Beemans . It started killing gophers and ground squirrels for my son on his suburban property in the 2000s and still going strong. It had a factory Williams sight on it. I have a Beeman Kodiak Magnum in .25 for about 15 years now and it is in the ball park for power IMHO , maybe a little more but the Beeman is a big rifle and has a 4-12x scope !
Old Blue Streak with the other guns given to my son for his Northern California Suburban semi rural use , the going away picture now 15 years old.

I have the Blue Streak in 22 cal. I bought it maybe 20 years ago for popping squirrels in my back yard if they really started to get over populated. I feed the birds constantly, hence there are almost always 4 grey squirrels in my back yard and sometimes double that.

I shot a possum with it and was not impressed with its killing power. It took too many shots and most were head shots.

Gordon,

Nice old Air rifle and nice history. It was still looking strong when it went to its new home, fer sure. I like that Williams sight.

Ya know, I am thinking I may add another question to my yard sale litany.

Got any guns or ammo or reloading equipment you don't need?

and now adding.... How about any old broken air rifles?
