I have an old Remington 1917 Enfield that I shoot in hi power matches at my club. I would like to start using my knobloch prescription shooting glasses (highly adjustable smallbore glasses) while shooting it, as I can adjust the lens to where it needs to be. My concern is that such shooting glasses really won't do anything in the event of a cartridge rupture. Larger glasses aren't as adjustable, and I haven't been able to get my regular prescription glasses positioned correctly while in position.

What do you guys do for higher powered rifle shooting?

Highmaster is right, but it your prescription glasses let you see the front sight at all clearly, a quick fix is to tape a foam rubber ear plug to the nose-piece on the opposite side.

If you shoot right-handed and right-eye dominant, tape the ear plug to the left side nose pad. This raises the glasses up, and moves them to the left a little, so the "sweet spot" of the right lens is closer to where you need it to see the sights.

When you find a prescription that really lets you see the front sight while not making the aiming black gray out / fuzz out, then go ahead and get some good Decot's or whatever. Just my 2¢

Regards,
Andrew
