There was video of this on FNC- but I still don't know if they really used "automatic" weapons, although they clearly did have an "AK-47 style" weapon.

Shooting out with assault weapons caught on tape
By The Associated Press
NEW ORLEANS -- An gang-style ambush in which three men attacked a pair of victims with automatic weapons was caught on a video surveillance camera at a car wash.
The two victims, both 36-year-old men, were hit multiple times but escaped and were hospitalized in time, it appears, to save their lives.
The tape shows three gunmen walking boldly onto the lot of TCL Carwash shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday night, each holding what appeared to be AK-47-style assault rifles at his side. They then strategically positioned themselves as they prepared to attack.
One man stood in one of the stalls of the do-it-yourself car wash and opened fire. The surveillance tape was clear enough to show him biting his lower lip as he sprayed the two victims with bullets.
Another man appears to have stood closer to the nearest intersection while he fired. A third man, police said, hid near the car wash's office and didn't appear to shoot, but apparently served as a backup hit man just in case the two other men didn't hit their targets.
Investigators said they strongly believe the shooting is drug-related.
Several cars and two homes in the area also were bullet-riddled from the shooting.
In addition to a bullet trail, police also found several blood trails that allowed them to track the two victims' escape.
One man ran into a street for help. The second victim appeared to have run inside a post office, leaving bloodstains on the front glass door and the tiles inside the building as well as the parking lot.
The victims were taken to Charity Hospital. One, with multiple gunshot wounds to the right arm, right leg and back, was in serious condition. The other was in stable condition, with gunshot wounds to the right arm and graze wounds to the face, police said.
After the shooting, the gunmen ran off and officers believe they hopped into a getaway car. In one man's haste, police said, he dropped an assault rifle in some high weeds, where the car is believed to have been parked.
Police have yet to name the suspects or make an arrest. Police also have not released the names of the victims.
