Shorten a synthetic stock.

I want to buy the kids a kimber montana in 243. Is it possible to shorten the stock by an inch on this rifle or any synthetic stock? The stock is kevlar I think.

Depends on what is inside the stock. Some stocks only have mounting points at the ends to save weight. Are basically hollow besides that. You would have to mount something in the stock to attach the recoil pad if it is hollow. Something like a piece of wood glassed into the inside of the stock. Only way to really tell it to remove the recoil pad and have a look.
