Shot my first reloads today. Loaded .308 and 7.62x39. Accuracy with .308 was much better than the surplus I have. 7.62x39 was about the same as the same as the brown bear I have been using, with a slightly lower recoil.

Loads were:

7.62x51: military brass, 37 gr Accurate 2460, 147 FMJBT(pulled mil), CCI primer
7.62x39: Win. brass, 26.5 gr Accurate 2460, 123 gr speer sp, CCI primer

Next go will be with IMR 3031 with the same loads in ever other way.

BTW these were fired from a Chinese SKS and an STG58 (FAL).

Something tells me this can become addicting.

Is the 4064 a stick powder also?

I just found out my trickler won't run at all with the 3031. So I went back and loaded some .308 with more A2460.

Welcome to a great hobby Jim. I was where you're at just a couple of months ago. Stick to it, read others advice, and break out the checkbook or credit card and you'll make some fine ammo. Yes, 4064 is stick, extruded, whatever you want to call it. Not sure why your trickler wont work for some types of powder.

The one I have is an RCBS, not sure of model.

Reading another thread, looks like one from Lee will work better for stick powder. May just have to get another to use for stick and use this one for ball powder.
