SHOT show 2008 would you go?

I have a chance to go to the SHOT show 2008 in Las Vegas.
Room and board included at the Excalibur, all I need to do is get there and feed myself.
I know I should be delighted to have the chance to go, but I'm ambivalent about going.

If you could - would you?

Took the chance last year and glad I did. You can eat cheaply in Las Vegas, and flights there are dirt cheap. GO!

I would go in a heartbeat if somebody else was paying. I would go in a heartbeat if I could get a ticket and I paid all expenses.

Flight for me would be ~$550
I need an AR before next election season, and the cost of the flight is 1/2 of my (personally) allotted amount for the gun.
Just to get to a show that all I'm going to do is wear down the soles of my shoes walking around at.

I realize it's a YOU SHOULD GO if you had a chance type show, but other than seeing new stuff that I'll never be able to afford, what good is it to go?
(Although I'd wait a full day in line to meet R. Lee Ermey just to shake his hand.... he's so cool)

I don't work in the industry - I'm not a press person - I don't gamble so it being in Las Vegas means absolutely nothing to me.
I'm just someone that is good friends with a small manufacturer that has an opening on his "staff" to get me in.

I've always wanted to go to at least one....now that the opportunity has come up, I'm going...and you should do the same

I understand the expense involved might be a deal breaker, but really, when opportunity knocks, you gotta answer the call

Um if you don't wish to go can you transfer your room to someone else? I can get a ticket for myself it's just the cost or room and flight holding me back.

While I'd love to go, I wouldn't be able to this year - not enough vacation/leave available from work. Guess I shouldn't have taken all those days off to go hunting...

No you don't. But you are supposed to be in the business although it's not hard to get a ticket if you aren't.
