I reload 12ga 2 3/4". I'm tired of using my MTM cases to hold ammo. When shooting clays I just put a cardboard box of 25 on my hip ammo holder/shell bag thing. So I'm just going to start boxing my reloads in cardboard. What's the best way to take 100, 200 rounds of shotshells to the range? .30 cal ammo box? Nylon range bag?

I've got a good size MTM dry box that I've had for nearly 25 years that I put all of my shotgun junk in when I go to the clays range. It can hold a few hundred rounds of shells in the bottom, and on top of that I put my shell carrier/pouch. My shell carrier is just a cheap nylon affair that has managed to hold up for quite some time. It is branded Redhead, from Bass Pro. It has it's own wide nylon belt with plastic buckle, and two deep pockets. One pocket can hold 50 shells and I assume the other is for empties, but since I don't reload I stick my wallet, ear plug cass, spares, choke wrench, etc in there.

When I get to the range, I put on my shell pouch and dump 50 rounds into it. Then I grab the gun and ear protection and leave everything else in the car. If I shoot more than one round, I drop by the car and dump more shells in my carrier.

That's my whole "system," which I have worked out over the years. :)

If I shoot sporting clays, I use a small soft sided tool bag. I can easily fit 6 boxes of shells in it, a couple choke tubes, wrenches, grease etc. I couldn't find a pic of the one I have, but it's lasted well over a decade so far.

It is similar to this.

When I go to the skeet range, I don't box my shells as my car is super close. I cut spout off an empty 8lb jug of powder and dump my shells in there. It has a built in handle and holds a whole lot of .410 shells. When it gets banged up, I will just make another one.

I am sure there are better options, but these work well enough for me.

I have a range bag with side pockets for chokes and hearing protection, Remoil, and all the other ancillary things you think you need. Mine will hold 12 boxes of 12 gauge when loaded just right, but 8 is usually enough

I use a range bag to carry everything I need out to the skeet field. It will hold 8 boxes of shells, shell pouch, hearing protection, shooting glasses and extra lenses, along with other items I've found nice to have handy. Bob Allen makes a remarkably sturdy vinyl bag at a low cost. There are alot of choices including having a custom leather bag made to your specs.
