Shotshell Reloading

The Lee Load All is not a very good set up to go with. I bought one years ago, used it once, and then bought another Mec. What had happened is I already had a 600 JR in 12 ga., but I wanted to load for 20 and .410 also, so I bought a Load All to save a few bucks.

Honestly, expense aside, the Mec 600 Jr will do very well, they are the real deal for a starter press, or even a life time SG press if you can live with 3 or 4 boxes per hour. And if you need more from the press, say you want to load 3-1/2", they have other set ups to accommodate that. But for every day shotgun loading, you can't beat the Mec 600's, they will last a life time, and the accessories, such as, the charge bars and powder bushings are reasonable, and replacement parts are inexpensive too.

As far as recipes are concerned, there are quite a few free online sources for recipes. And Alliant also offers a free book for their powders, Hogdon loading pages too is good. And the "One Caliber, One Book" has a bunch of recipes. Loading shot shells is super easy to learn. But the one thing to remember is to not stray from the recipes at all, other than using approved substitute components. Those type of component substitutes will be charted.
