Hey guys,

This is kind of dumb to say, but as Im talking online to some friends today, I got a little nervous and paranoid. Not the tin-foil hat kind. But with all the talks of wire tapping and whatnot, it got me thinking.

My aol sn from when I was younger was "chaos4society". My mom always used to say I was a chaos to society and that I should be in a cage. She was Just kidding of course :D

But my friends know that I am into guns and that it took me forever to legally own them in NJ. So my one friend messages me and asks if I could get him an unregistered MAC10!!! I told him, its illegal, impossible for me to do, and that Im in the process of becoming a cop soon and just talking about stuff like that could land me in trouble.

My other friend messages me at the same time and starts talking about the firearms ID card and how long it took. Then he said stuff like "I cant wait to get my carry permit" and "when are we starting a militia" and things like that.

Keep in mind, while nobody threatened anyone or made any off the wall statements, it got me thinking. I was worried about talking to them about stuff like that. I would never help my friend get an illegal SMG, or anything like that.

Should I be worried? I dont expect ATF agents to knock down my door, but should I be more cautious?

Thanks.

If 'twere me, I believe I'd choose a higher class of friends: people in closer touch with reality, people with a greater willingness to research matters before asking people to do preposterous favors.

ohh no .........that will go on your record for your background check!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just kidding my friend. i would be careful of who you associate with. if you have a friend that really wanted to get an unregistered gun then you have to make the choice between being a cop or having these kinds of friends. you cant be a cop and have felonious friends. sorry my friend but thats part of growing up.:)

good luck.

of course I know that I should choose better friends. These were old high school buddies from almost 4 years ago that still talk to me online. I havent seen the one in over 2 years. My good friends, the ones I hang out with, are either cops, military or just generally good people with clean records. I know how to choose friends. maybe in my post, I should have said "old aquiatances."

hope i didnt offend you, but i would change my screen name quick. i have had to dust old aquaintainces after i got married. all they wanted to do was go out and chase :cuss: ...had to figure out where my priorities were. you seem pretty level headed and i'm sure you'll be just fine. its all part of life and making good choices, sounds like you have already made them. good luck in your pursuit of your police officer career. im sure you'll do very well.:)
