Huh?
What I fail to grasp here, is why so many of you INSIST that it is your right to spend money in places that have no respect for you, your civil liberties or your safety? Why reward these people for spitting in your face?
Why not shop, dine, spend money in places that respect you?
THAT is why I don't give a hoot about the property owner's desires.
If you come into my house and I ask you to leave your gun in your car and you don't, you might find my gun in your face.

That wouldn't happen because I wouldn't invite anyone into my house that I didn't trust. However... my house, my rules.

You know, when we don't stick to the discussion at hand (carry in businesses/establishemnts that post "no-guns" signage) this discussion gets absurdly heated for no purpose whatsoever.
No one is coming to your house, and if they did, and you said to them, "leave your gun outside," and they refused and entered anyway, they would be guilty of tresspassing.
That's NOT under debate. But now we've got "my gun in your face" kind of talk flying over it.
"Hey, there's not enough traction in the argument at hand ... let's insert something unrelated that we can REALLY get angry about.
Or not.

You can ask one of the other mods to close it.Well that would suck. I hate closing a thread that I've been an active participant in because I don't want to give the impression that I've chosen a "winning" side and closed it to shut off debate.
On the other hand, when the same argument comes around for the fourth or fifth time, there doesn't seem to be much benefit to leaving it open.
If the main participants have all had their fair chance to air their points of view and really don't have another facet of the debate to explore, I can close it on an amicable note if that's cool with everyone.
Sometimes if these are left open they become magnets for random "drive by" posts, usually one liners that whack some already well-hashed point. Replying to those is never-ending and exhausting.
So, what of it? Are we done here?

I hope the local jail is comfortable
Really? You enter my house armed after being told not to, and then I go to jail? Perhaps, but just to visit you.
